Tripura Government Prioritizes Education for Underprivileged Groups and Girls, Says Chief Minister Saha

Agartala, Jan 2 (NationPress) The Tripura government is focusing on enhancing the educational infrastructure of the state and aims to provide quality education to children from all segments of society, particularly backward classes and girls, announced Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday.

While speaking at the platinum jubilee celebration of the Ramesh English Medium Higher Secondary School in Udaipur, located in southern Tripura, the Chief Minister emphasized that the state government is committed to the overall development of educational infrastructure.

He noted that the government is also dedicated to executing various educational policies, with regular review meetings organized to monitor progress.

Efforts have been initiated to tackle the teacher shortage in educational institutions, Saha, who also oversees the Education portfolio, mentioned, adding that the government is striving to guarantee quality education and enhance the teaching methodology.

"Measures are being implemented to offer educational opportunities to children from poor, neglected, minority, and tribal communities," he pointed out.

The Chief Minister acknowledged that the late scholar Ramesh Chandra Dutta founded Ramesh School as a private institution outside of Agartala in 1951, with the vision of delivering quality education to the state's children.

Ramesh School, now recognized as Udaipur Ramesh English Medium Higher Secondary School, is one of the state's oldest educational establishments.

"Graduates from this school have achieved success in numerous significant roles both domestically and internationally. Its alumni include former Chief Ministers, MLAs, and high-ranking state officials," he added.

He also highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced the National Education Policy to reform the education system across the country.

“The state government is aligning its initiatives with this objective. Special efforts have been made to construct new buildings, implement smart classes, and modernize educational facilities in the state's schools. Previously, there were no universities in the state, but now there are numerous government and private institutions, including a central university. Initiatives have also been launched to ensure sufficient teacher recruitment for schools,” he stated.
