Agartala, June 27 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, declared on Friday that the state government is committed to enhancing both the education and health sectors, prioritizing the holistic development of these essential fields.
During the inauguration of the Chinmaya Hari Hara Vidyalaya and the Bhoomi Pujan for the Chinmaya Sundarayi Temple in West Taranagar, the Chief Minister revealed plans to establish Tripura Competitive Examination Centres at three locations across the state.
He noted that these centres, aimed at aiding job-seekers in Tripura, will receive budgetary support for their establishment in Udaipur (Gomati district), Agartala (West Tripura), and Ambassa (Dhalai district).
As the leader overseeing the Education department, CM Saha emphasized that education is vital for both social and economic progress in the current landscape.
He remarked, “Education enhances knowledge. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated that the future will belong to those equipped with education. It fosters personality and confidence.”
The Chief Minister further highlighted the Prime Minister’s focus on vocational education and high-quality learning.
“We are committed to advancing the state's educational framework accordingly. Children must be encouraged to engage in social service from an early age, fostering a mindset of assistance. With knowledge, one can overcome all barriers and progress,” CM Saha added.
He pointed out that we are now in the age of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital innovation, with numerous avenues available for knowledge acquisition. “Education should be the path to enlightenment, and society should heed the wisdom of learned individuals,” he concluded.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the successful implementation of the National Education Policy, 2020, in schools and colleges throughout Tripura, attributing this achievement to the dedicated efforts of Prime Minister Modi.
On June 23, Tripura proudly became the third state in India to attain full literacy, alongside Goa and Mizoram, boasting a literacy rate of 95.6%.
This recognition as a fully literate state is a significant achievement for Tripura's citizens, and CM Saha announced the opening of three new general degree colleges in Ambassa, Kakraban, and Karbook.
Currently, Tripura is home to numerous educational institutions, including the National Law University campus, National Forensic Science University campus, National Sanskrit University campus, Central University, IIIT, Fishery College, Agricultural College, Veterinary College, and the Tripura Institute of Technology, among others.
Additionally, various private educational institutions are being established across different regions, as stated by the Chief Minister.
Local MLA and state Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Swami Shubhkarananda Maharaj from the Ramakrishna Mission, renowned social worker G.R. Ravindra Raju, Amit Rakshit, and other distinguished scholars graced the event.
