The police confirmed, “A case has been filed, and further inquiries are underway.”
The J&K Police, alongside security forces, has intensified operations against terrorism in the region, targeting not only terrorists but also their associates, sympathizers, and those involved in drug trafficking or hawala money schemes.
In a strategic shift, these operations are being conducted in a more coordinated manner to dismantle the entire terror infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, rather than solely concentrating on armed terrorists.
The Army oversees the 740-km-long Line of Control (LoC), while the Border Security Force (BSF) secures the 240-km-long International Border in Jammu and Kashmir.
The LoC extends through Baramulla, Kupwara, and Bandipora districts of the Valley, as well as parts of Jammu district, whereas the International Border is located in Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts.
In a related development, police in Srinagar raided 18 locations linked to terror sympathizers and associates as part of their ongoing mission to rid the Valley of terrorism.
Additionally, law enforcement agencies are seizing the properties of terrorists or individuals who have generated assets through terrorist activities, with appropriate court approvals.
Previously, the police dismantled a significant drug network in Kashmir, leading to the seizure of 325 kg of illegal substances.
