Nagpur, Dec 11 (NationPress) The head of Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT), Uddhav Thackeray, delivered a scathing critique of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on issues related to Hindutva and corruption. This came in response to their recent comments that alleged he was seeking to secure a minority vote bank.

During an interaction with party legislators and officials at the Vidhan Bhavan amidst the ongoing winter session, Thackeray countered Fadnavis’ remarks: 'Kon Hotas Tu, Kay Zalas Tu...' (Who were you, what have you become?), which was shared alongside a video of Amit Shah's speech in Parliament.

He retaliated by questioning the Chief Minister's integrity regarding corruption, stating, “I feel pity for the Chief Minister. You have surrounded yourself with so many corrupt individuals; this is not the culture of Maharashtra.”

Thackeray further took aim at Amit Shah and the RSS, asserting that he does not require any lessons on Hindutva. “Amit Shah is a staunch Hindutvawadi, but he does not need to teach me about it. The RSS certainly has no authority to instruct me on Hindutva,” he remarked.

He also raised a challenge regarding beef consumption, referencing a photograph from December 9. “You refer to 'Vande Mataram.' Yet, your cabinet minister, Kiren Rijiju, has publicly stated he consumes beef. This photo is from December 9, showing him dining with them. If you call yourself a Hindutvawadi, will you demand Rijiju's resignation?” he questioned.

“Before criticizing me, you should examine the Hindutva within yourself and your party,” he added.

Thackeray also scrutinized the actions of Jay Shah, Amit Shah's son and BCCI Secretary, asking, “Is Jay Shah not a Hindutvawadi considering he engages with Pakistan in cricket?”

Shifting focus to the MahaYuti government, Thackeray criticized their response to assisting farmers affected by heavy rains and floods, questioning their commitment. He noted that the Union Agriculture Minister had initially claimed no aid proposal was received from the state, which was later hurriedly submitted.

He demanded transparency regarding the proposal details and the requested aid amount, condemning the “mockery” of crop insurance and calling for accountability from the involved companies.

On the absence of appointed Leaders of Opposition in both the state assembly and council, Thackeray highlighted that the Maha Vikas Aghadi had proposed senior Shiv Sena UBT legislator Bhaskar Jadhav for the Leader of Opposition post during the first session, yet there has been no response.

“Are you afraid of the Leader of the Opposition position? What is the value of ministers without portfolios? The Deputy CM role is not constitutionally mandated, yet we have two Deputy Chief Ministers. The Chief Minister needs to explain the delay in appointing the LoP,” he asserted.

Thackeray also criticized the recent municipal elections, claiming they were unprecedented for their coercion and rampant financial influence, stating that other states might cite Maharashtra as a model of anarchy.

He reiterated his demand concerning the promise made by the MahaYuti alliance to raise monthly financial assistance for Ladki Bahins (beloved sisters) from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,100.

“We will continue to press the issue of when the government will fulfill its pledge of providing Rs 2,100 to the beloved sisters, as promised during last year's state assembly elections. If they fail to deliver, they will have to face the consequences,” he concluded.
