New Delhi, Nov 7 (NationPress) A delegation from the UK Ministry of Justice engaged in discussions about gender justice and ease of living initiatives with the Indian Secretary of the Legislative Department, aiming to bolster bilateral cooperation, an official reported on Friday.
Rajiv Mani, Secretary of the Legislative Department in the Ministry of Law and Justice, held an extensive conversation with the visitors regarding the enhancement of cooperative efforts in the domain of Law and Justice, the official stated.
The thorough discussions, which took place on Thursday, encompassed various topics including the repeal of outdated laws, the tribunal system, ease of living initiatives, gender justice, and training programs for officials from both nations in legislative drafting.
Additionally, both parties reviewed the operational aspects of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) established between the two countries, according to the statement.
This meeting underscored the mutual commitment of India and the UK to reinforce collaboration in the realm of law and justice, the statement added.
The UK delegation featured representatives from the British High Commission, including David Meyer, Head of International Programmes; Christina Soper, Head of International Rule of Law; Paul Scott, Senior Policy Advisor for Legal Services; and Barbora Cindarova, Senior Policy Advisor for International Engagement at MoJ.
Earlier this week, Professor Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, along with Dr. David Warren Smith, the National Technology Adviser to the UK, launched a pilot version of the India-United Kingdom Science and Technology Partnership (IN-UK-STP) dashboard.
This pilot dashboard, collaboratively developed by the Office of the PSA and the British High Commission, encompasses 143 bilateral projects initiated and supported by various stakeholders from both nations since 2018.
The dashboard details these projects in terms of funding value, implementing partners, and funding agencies from both countries, as reported by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.
