Bengaluru, May 5 (NationPress) A significant signature campaign has commenced, calling for the swift deportation of Pakistani nationals living in Karnataka. The gathered signatures will be presented as a formal memorandum to the Karnataka Governor.
Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy officially initiated the campaign on Monday by endorsing a petition that demands the immediate removal of Pakistani nationals from the state and urges the Congress-led Karnataka government to take necessary actions regarding this issue.
Both leaders launched the campaign by gathering signatures from local auto drivers and street vendors in the Malleswaram area of Bengaluru.
During the event, state convenor of various BJP cells S. Dattatri remarked that when the BJP was in power, such matters were treated with utmost seriousness. He asserted that numerous Pakistani nationals reside in every district of Karnataka.
Previously, at a press conference held at the state BJP office ‘Jagannath Bhavan’ in Bengaluru, MP and Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje claimed that Karnataka is transforming into a hub for criminals.
“In the past, we would discuss how daily crimes occurred in Bihar, but now Bihar has become peaceful, while in Karnataka, one to four murders happen each day,” she noted.
The Union Minister expressed that the uncertainty regarding whether the Karnataka government is functional is a common sentiment among the populace, as they frequently ask, “What is happening to your state?”
She criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, alleging that whenever he assumes power, Karnataka becomes a playground for criminals.
Karandlaje accused the former Congress administration under CM Siddaramaiah in 2013 of dismissing criminal cases during cabinet meetings. “At that time, organizations like PFI and KFD operated under various aliases. The government dropped cases against those arrested in terrorism-related and anti-national cases, including the murder of RSS worker Rudresh,” she alleged.
She highlighted that recently, a police station in Hubballi was set ablaze, while another faced an attack in Mysuru. “Police officers faced assaults. Nevertheless, CM Siddaramaiah proposed to withdraw 43 such cases in the cabinet. He has enabled anti-social elements and terrorists to roam freely,” she stated.
Karandlaje further mentioned that during Siddaramaiah’s previous term, the state experienced the loss of 23 Hindu youths and activists.
“We have contacted the NIA and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to demand an investigation into the murders of Rudresh and Praveen Kumar Nettaru. The NIA discovered that several individuals with foreign links had received training abroad and were hiding in different states after committing murders,” Shobha explained.
She asserted that in regions like Mangaluru, Mysuru, Puttur, and Sullia, those who supported terrorist and anti-national activities and their financiers were apprehended and are currently incarcerated. This, she claimed, provided the central government with substantial evidence to impose a ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI).
“We had requested the ban, but the Centre lacked adequate evidence at that time. It was the investigation into Praveen Kumar Nettaru’s case that unveiled PFI’s involvement, leading to the ban,” she elaborated.
Karandlaje also alleged that many PFI activists have since joined the political group SDPI. “Due to Siddaramaiah’s backing and the withdrawal of cases, these criminals are once again committing murders,” she claimed.
