Jaipur, Feb 27 (NationPress) Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma emphasized on Thursday that both the ruling party and the opposition must collaborate to foster the development of Rajasthan for its eight crore citizens.

While addressing the Assembly, he highlighted that every member holds the responsibility to maintain the dignity of the House and engage in debates with respect and restraint.

Reflecting on the recent impasse in the House, the Chief Minister urged all legislators to think carefully prior to speaking.

“During our debates, emotions can escalate, but every word carries weight. We must ensure that our behavior does not diminish the respect our constituents expect from us,” he stated.

He cautioned that thoughtless comments not only affect others but can also tarnish one’s own reputation, comparing unchecked behavior to a minor flaw that can escalate into a significant issue. Sharma reaffirmed the necessity of adhering to the established regulations of the House.

He commended the Speaker for maintaining order and reminded members that every moment spent in the House should be advantageous for the people of Rajasthan. “Our time here is invaluable and financed by the public. We must utilize it wisely, ensuring our actions reflect the trust placed in us,” he declared.

Stressing the need for accountability, the Chief Minister encouraged members to recognize positive contributions and to address mistakes directly.

“Let us acknowledge what is good and rectify what is wrong,” he asserted, advocating for a culture of mutual respect and responsibility.

The Chief Minister mentioned that many esteemed individuals have occupied the Speaker's chair, all of whom deserve our respect. The Speaker is respected by all of us and is essential for the functioning of the House.

“Before creating a stir or making headlines, we should be mindful because the time of the House is incredibly valuable. We should consider how every minute in the House can be beneficial. What can we do for the people of Rajasthan? What goodwill do we have towards the individual in the last row? This House should be a place for such contemplation,” he added.

Sharma noted that there was significant disruption in the House for several days, during which many suggested that the proceedings should be further adjourned.

“However, I asserted that the House is not intended for adjournment. This is the House of the people of Rajasthan. The people expect our public representatives to care for them,” he claimed.

He mentioned that we often make various comments in the heat of the moment, which is inappropriate. It is the duty of both the ruling party and the opposition members to ensure the dignity of the House is preserved, he added.

In a final appeal, Sharma requested that the Speaker address remarks made by a minister that did not align with the decorum expected within the Assembly. He emphasized that the House is a platform entrusted by the people, and its proceedings should always reflect their aspirations.

The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to the Leader of the Opposition and the Chief Whip for their efforts in resolving the recent deadlock, reaffirming that bipartisan cooperation is essential for achieving progress in Rajasthan.
