Patna, Oct 18 (NationPress) Union Minister Chirag Paswan remarked on Saturday that all deliberations within the NDA concerning the Bihar Assembly elections have concluded successfully, drawing a contrast with the opposition alliance, the Mahagathbandhan. He pointed out that in the opposition coalition, disagreements over seat-sharing have resulted in candidates submitting nominations against their own partners.
As Bihar approaches a fiercely contested two-phase Assembly election on November 6 and 11, the NDA has finalized its candidate list, whereas the Mahagathbandhan continues to grapple with internal discord.
While addressing reporters, Paswan stated, "You can observe the atmosphere within the NDA and among the public -- the effortlessness with which the NDA has honored all five of its allies and successfully completed negotiations. All our 243 candidates' nominations have been approved, and there is clarity regarding the names, unlike in the Mahagathbandhan, where conflicts over seats persist."
Paswan also met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is visiting Bihar, to strategize for the NDA's election approach.
"In the discussion with Amit Shah today, we talked about strategies to secure historic seats. There are head-to-head confrontations occurring within the Mahagathbandhan, where candidates have registered nominations against their own alliance members," Paswan added.
Bihar Minister Janak Chamar conveyed optimism about the NDA's success, stating to IANS, "Everyone in the state recognizes how the Nitish government has liberated Bihar from jungle raj. Under a governance model focused on development, everyone feels secure, and the public clearly supports progress. In 2025, people will again vote in favor of development."
Former MP Arun Kumar also expressed confidence, asserting that there will be a "grand victory for the NDA."
Speaking to IANS, Kumar stated, "People desire to extend the mandate for the ongoing development led by PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar. Numerous initiatives are currently underway, and thus the public wishes for the NDA government to regain power."
The NDA has officially announced all its candidates for the 243-member Bihar Assembly.
Both the Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party have put forth 101 candidates each, while the remaining seats have been designated to the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), and the Hindustani Awami Morcha (HAM), all of which have also finalized their lists.
