Lucknow, April 29 (NationPress) In a strategic move to address the energy crisis and cater to the increasing demand for electricity, the Uttar Pradesh government is embarking on a mission to fast-track the green energy transformation within the state. This includes tapping into the unexplored potential of solar energy in this flourishing sector.
According to an official statement, the state government has set an ambitious goal of generating 500 gigawatts of solar energy by the year 2030.
Additionally, the government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Smart Energy Council of Australia and the Hinduja Group.
A comprehensive initiative has also been launched to train 60,000 ‘solar mitras’, who will be equipped with the necessary skills to perform tasks such as solar panel installation and maintenance.
The commitment of the Yogi government towards the swift adoption of solar energy is evident from the fact that upon assuming office in 2017, the state's solar energy generation stood at 288 MW. Over the past decade, this number has surged tenfold.
