Agra, June 17 (NationPress) Babita Chauhan, the Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Women’s Commission, praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, attributing the state's success in women's safety to his robust governance and law enforcement. Uttar Pradesh has achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming the leading state in the nation for resolving and adhering to sexual harassment cases, as noted in a recent report from the Investigation Tracking System for Sexual Offences (ITSSO).
According to the June report from ITSSO, Uttar Pradesh outpaces all other states in the prompt resolution and adherence to crimes concerning women. The data, which spans from April 21, 2018, to June 3, 2024, reveals that 1,22,130 FIRs related to women’s safety have been filed, boasting a disposal rate that sets a national standard.
Expressing her pride, Babita Chauhan remarked to IANS, “Upon reviewing the figures this morning, I felt overwhelming joy. On behalf of women everywhere, I extend my gratitude to our Chief Minister for his unwavering commitment and decisive actions regarding women’s safety. Under his leadership, not only is misconduct against women condemned, but even improper conduct is treated as an offense. His message is clear: no criminal will evade justice.”
She highlighted that the elevated disposal rate is indicative of systemic effectiveness and dedication.
“Currently, the resolution rate stands at 98.6 percent. This reflects the joint efforts of the administrative framework and the Women’s Commission. Whenever a victim reaches out to us, we prioritize ensuring their case is handled quickly and comprehensively,” she stated.
Chauhan further elaborated that the few unresolved cases typically arise from ongoing legal processes or document validation.
“Nevertheless, our objective remains a 100 percent resolution rate. Everyone involved, from the administration to the Commission, is dedicated to this cause,” she affirmed.
Commenting on the improvements in public safety perceptions, Chauhan pointed out the tangible changes occurring in society.
“There is a palpable fear among criminals today. Women now feel secure walking alone, attending school, working, and managing their daily lives without fear. Such a societal shift was unimaginable just a few years ago.”
She compared the current circumstances to those under previous administrations, noting that even simple daytime travel posed dangers for women in the past.
“In those days, parents hesitated to allow their daughters to attend school alone. Today, thanks to the present administration, those anxieties have diminished. Women of all ages are engaging in education, careers, and social activities with unprecedented confidence.”
Chauhan concluded her statements by once again expressing her gratitude to CM Yogi Adityanath.
“On behalf of all women in Uttar Pradesh, I extend heartfelt thanks to our Chief Minister. His foresight and leadership have reshaped the state's reputation. While the opposition may persist in their criticisms, they should reflect on their previous shortcomings before challenging this government. The advancements are tangible, and the populace, particularly women, can sense the change,” she concluded.
