New Delhi, July 22 (NationPress) Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha has advised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to maintain his position at the helm of the government while delegating the leadership of his party to another individual, emphasizing the need for concentrated leadership and timely decision-making.

In an interview with IANS, Kushwaha stated, “With regard to the Chief Minister, we believe that due to his extensive experience, it is beneficial for the state that he remains in his role as Chief Minister. As for what actions should be taken, we have already expressed our stance in our tweet. Ultimately, the decision resides with him. This is an internal matter for his party, and he must decide.”

Kushwaha's comments followed a pointed message he shared on X, where he sent birthday wishes to Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant. In his message, Kushwaha publicly urged Kumar to rethink his dual roles as both Chief Minister and party president, asserting that it is “no longer suitable” to handle both responsibilities at once.

“On this special occasion, I respectfully urge respected Shri Nitish Kumar Ji to recognize the reality, taking into account the important context of the current time, that it is inappropriate for him to oversee both the government and the party at the same time,” Kushwaha remarked.

“His extensive experience in governance should continue to serve the state... However, regarding the transfer of party leadership... the moment has now arrived. Any procrastination on this issue could lead to irreversible harm to the party. Possibly a setback so grave that it may never be rectified,” he noted.

In another statement, Kushwaha also addressed Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation. “What is the Congress questioning? We remain unaffected by the opposition's comments or their unfounded allegations. Yes, Jagdeep Dhankhar is a responsible individual. He has stepped down for health reasons, but we implore him to reconsider his resignation. His presence is essential at this time.”

He further mentioned that despite health challenges, constitutional provisions allow for continuity. “The Deputy Chairman usually fulfills the duties. Therefore, there shouldn’t be significant difficulties in maintaining operations. That is why he should rethink his decision. His presence is vital,” he stated.
