New Delhi, Sep 8 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh urged students to maintain a robust sense of national pride in all their pursuits and highlighted the importance of discipline, service, and patriotism in shaping their character and ambitions.
During the Diamond Jubilee festivities of Navy Children School (NCS), Delhi, Singh engaged with students and the school principal at his office located in South Block.
In his address, the Defence Minister inspired students to dream purposefully and to pursue their objectives with diligence.
He encouraged them to remain humble yet resilient, fulfilling their responsibilities with honesty and respect.
Stressing the significance of character development during childhood, Singh praised NCS for its role in nurturing students' aspirations through discipline, service, and patriotism.
He acknowledged the essential role of schools under the Ministry of Defence in national development, asserting that these institutions serve not only as educational hubs but also as platforms that instill values of leadership, integrity, and responsibility in the next generation.
During the occasion, the Defence Ministry received a brief overview of NCS's vision and accomplishments, with students sharing their experiences of how the school plays a pivotal role in their overall growth.
The students presented handcrafted tokens of appreciation to the Raksha Mantri, along with a Coffee Table Book and Crest.
Earlier, the Defence Minister emphasized the significance of 'Atmanirbharta' (self-reliance) in the defence sector, describing it as a “condition for survival and progress” in the 21st century.
He remarked that, given the current geopolitical scenario, reliance on foreign nations for defence needs is “not an option” for India.
Highlighting the swiftly evolving global landscape, he stated, “Whether it's pandemics, terrorism, or regional conflicts, this century has proven to be the most unstable and challenging on every front so far. In such circumstances, if we discuss today’s strategic needs, it becomes evident that Atmanirbharta is not just beneficial but has become essential.”
