It will be active from the signing date and remain effective for three years, with the possibility of a three-year extension through mutual agreement in writing between both states.

The Commissioner (Art and Culture) of the Manipur government, M. Joy Singh, emphasized the rich traditional culture of the state and its representation during diverse events and festivals.

Artists from Manipur showcased two cultural performances—Thougal Jagoi and Thang Ta.

The MoU was signed at Gomti Nagar in Lucknow, organized by Uttar Pradesh's Department of Tourism and Culture during a formal event attended by State Culture and Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh.

Yogendra Upadhyay, the Higher Education Minister of Uttar Pradesh, along with senior officials from both states, participated in the signing ceremony.

The 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat' initiative seeks to foster interaction and enhance mutual understanding among the populace of various states and Union Territories (UT) through the pairing concept.

The states engage in activities to establish a lasting and organized cultural link in areas such as language acquisition, culture, traditions, music, tourism, cuisine, sports, and the exchange of best practices.

Officials noted that the essence of mutual understanding, amid a shared history, has fostered a unique unity in diversity, which symbolizes a vibrant essence of nationhood that deserves to be cultivated and cherished moving forward.

In today's world, where time and technology have minimized distances in communication and connectivity, fostering cultural exchanges among individuals from different regions is vital. This serves as a means to strengthen human bonds and contribute to a unified approach to nation-building, as per officials.
