Dahod district in-charge minister Arjun Modhwadia on Friday, 19 June declared that Gujarat had transformed into a globally recognised investment hub, crediting the state's industrial policies and the alignment between the state and central governments at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit's district-level programme in Dahod. The event saw memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed between the Gujarat government and industrial units slated for establishment in Dahod under the Vibrant Gujarat 2026 framework.

Key Developments at the Dahod Summit

The district-level summit was chaired by Modhwadia and co-attended by Minister of State Ramesh Katara, senior government officials, elected representatives, industrialists, traders, and students. Approval letters were distributed to seven beneficiaries, with total assistance exceeding ₹54 lakh. The event underscored Dahod's positioning as an emerging node in Gujarat's broader investment corridor strategy.

What the Ministers Said

'With industrial policies and the double-engine government, Gujarat has become a destination centre for the entire world,' Modhwadia told the gathering. He pointed to Dholera — the greenfield industrial city being developed near Ahmedabad — as a model of planned infrastructure development replicable across the state. He stressed that Dahod's growth must be inclusive, reaching every household, farmer, and family in the district.

Katara echoed the sentiment, noting that Dahod had recorded measurable progress in education and healthcare. 'Compared to earlier times, Dahod district is witnessing significant development. People are receiving all forms of government assistance and the district is moving forward in sectors such as education and healthcare,' he said.

Viksit Bharat Vision and Local Entrepreneurship

Modhwadia urged industrialists and entrepreneurs to treat Dahod as a recognised investment destination, framing local enterprise as central to realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Viksit Bharat@2047' vision. He called on start-ups and fresh capital to strengthen the district's economic base, signalling that the summit was as much a mobilisation exercise as a policy event.

Panchvati Centre and Green Initiatives

Earlier on the same day, Modhwadia inaugurated a Panchvati Development Centre constructed by the Social Forestry Department at Khirkhai village in Limkheda taluka of Dahod district. A follow-up meeting with forest department officials, staff, and villagers was held under the joint chairmanship of Modhwadia and Katara. As part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, participants planted saplings within the Panchvati Centre premises — a nod to the Centre's nationwide tree-plantation drive.
