After a state cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, government spokesperson and minister Jitu Vaghani provided insights into the outcomes of the two-day summit.
Vaghani noted that the Kutch–Saurashtra Regional Summit, held as a preliminary event to the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, has marked a significant milestone in the state’s industrial development. Over the course of two days, the summit achieved 5,492 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for prospective investments totaling Rs 5,78,330 crore in the Kutch and Saurashtra regions.
“These MoUs represent a total of 6,26,253 job opportunities throughout Gujarat,” Vaghani declared, describing the summit as one of the most successful regional gatherings to date.
The Kutch district emerged as the leading investment hub at the summit, finalizing 458 MoUs valued at Rs 1,25,017 crore. These initiatives are projected to create jobs for 48,419 individuals in the district.
Bhavnagar secured the second position, attracting Rs 60,000 crore in investment across 306 projects. Meanwhile, Amreli recorded 62 MoUs worth Rs 36,000 crore, and Rajkot district showcased the highest number of projects with 2,921 MoUs valued at Rs 23,000 crore.
Among the various sectors highlighted at the summit, Power, Oil, and Gas took the lead, drawing commitments amounting to Rs 4,55,065 crore — representing the largest share by sector. Additionally, another 59 MoUs worth Rs 2,62,293 crore were signed throughout other areas of the state. These supplementary projects are projected to generate approximately 1,81,143 jobs, further enhancing Gujarat’s employment landscape.
Vaghani underscored that under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s leadership, Gujarat is making steady progress towards its ambition of becoming a “global investment hub.”
He remarked that the initiatives unveiled at the regional summit will be vital in solidifying the state’s industrial presence and accelerating widespread economic growth.
With billions in investments and thousands of new job prospects on the horizon, the 2026 Regional Summit reinforces Gujarat’s status as one of India’s most appealing and business-friendly regions.
