Gandhidham, Jan 2 (NationPress) The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference achieved a significant milestone on Friday with the grand launch of the Vibrant Kutch District-Level Programme at the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Convention Centre in Gandhidham, located in the Kutch district.
The event was officiated by Gujarat Forest and Environment Minister Arjun Modhwadia, alongside Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education Trikam B. Chhanga and numerous distinguished guests.
During the proceedings, a total of 334 MSME units formalized their Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) amounting to Rs 8,500 crore, establishing a robust framework for industrial and economic advancement in the area.
In his address, Minister Modhwadia emphasized that the Vibrant Gujarat–Vibrant Kutch initiative will rejuvenate the entrepreneurial environment.
He applauded the tenacity of the Kutch populace, who have successfully transformed the region into a hub of growth despite facing natural disasters.
He remarked that under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kutch has evolved into a progressive model, providing employment opportunities for countless individuals nationwide.
"Kutch possesses vast potential to become a global leader in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and the blue economy," stated Minister Modhwadia.
He highlighted that with nearly 40 percent of India's cargo being processed through Kutch's ports, the area is poised to become a pivotal center for electronics manufacturing, green hydrogen, data centers, and marine-based industries.
Minister Modhwadia also mentioned Gujarat's readiness for the future, as the state builds research and excellence centers focused on emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology.
Describing this period as the 'Golden Era of Kutch', he encouraged industries to engage in green initiatives aimed at enhancing the region's ecological footprint.
Minister of State Trikam B. Chhanga acknowledged that the Vibrant Gujarat initiative was originally launched by the former Chief Minister Narendra Modi and has now successfully expanded to district levels.
He praised the Kutch administration and local entrepreneurs for their contributions to development, transforming challenges like the 2001 earthquake and unemployment into opportunities.
"Kutch, historically recognized for its handmade crafts and cottage industries, is now emerging as an industrial powerhouse," he noted.
The Minister of State also mentioned the trend of reverse migration, with individuals returning to Kutch in search of new job prospects.
BJP Member of Parliament Vinod Chavda commended Prime Minister Modi's foresight, asserting that the Vibrant Gujarat vision has propelled remarkable industrial development in Kutch, particularly in ports, minerals, and chemicals.
He characterized Kutch as Gujarat's exceptional district, blessed with the convergence of desert, sea, and mountains, and urged young entrepreneurs to support the 'Make in India' and 'Vocal for Local' movements.
Deendayal Port Chairman S.K. Singh highlighted Kutch's integral role in the 'Developed India' Vision, stating that the port is at the forefront of advancements in green hydrogen and shipbuilding.
