In an interview with IANS during the conference, Prakram Singh Jadeja, the Chairman and Managing Director of Jyoti CNC Automation Limited, emphasized that gatherings like this are pivotal in establishing robust local industrial networks and bolstering MSME growth.
He pointed out that under the Viksit Bharat initiative, India aims to evolve into a $30 trillion economy, with Gujarat projected to contribute $3 trillion—making such conferences highly significant.
Preeti Patel, Managing Director of Respian Enterprise, remarked that the Vibrant Gujarat platform serves as an invaluable opportunity for the entire industrial sector to connect with the government and grasp policy frameworks.
Her firm has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the conference and is progressing towards commencing production.
“The factory will focus on the production of small defense equipment, and design approvals are already secured,” Patel informed IANS.
Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary of the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, shared with IANS that business leaders from Rajkot and across Gujarat were present at the conference.
He noted that extensive discussions were conducted regarding anticipated opportunities in the defense sector over the next decade.
“Various concerns were raised during these discussions, and it was agreed that another round of talks involving the Gujarat government, the Defence Ministry, and industry representatives will take place in the upcoming months,” Kumar stated.
Kumar also reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ensuring that all products used in India are manufactured domestically, asserting that the nation possesses the capability to realize this ambition.
Arjun Modhwadia, Gujarat’s Minister for Science and Technology, announced that over 5,000 MoUs were established during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, with investment commitments amounting to Rs 5.78 lakh crore.
He highlighted that representatives from diverse sectors attended the event, emphasizing the region's substantial potential, as nearly two-thirds of Gujarat’s coastline and more than half of the state’s land area fall within this region.
“The next decade will be India’s,” he declared to IANS.
