Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Gandhinagar, Feb 3 (NationPress) Surat is preparing to welcome the South Gujarat edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference on April 9 and 10, emphasizing the enhancement of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises through an MSME Conclave set for the second day of the gathering.
This two-day conference is part of the state government’s inaugural initiative to extend the Vibrant Gujarat platform to four regional sectors, building upon the legacy of the global summits that initiated in 2003.
The conference will unite stakeholders from six districts — Tapi, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Dang, and Bharuch — featuring seminars on specific sector themes, business-to-business and business-to-government interactions, exhibitions, and networking opportunities aimed at fostering regional industrial advancement.
Officials indicated that this regional format is crafted to ensure broader participation from local industries and entrepreneurs.
“Our goal is to establish a focused platform that is closer to grassroots, allowing enterprises to engage directly with policymakers, buyers, and service providers,” an official stated.
A significant highlight of the conference will be the MSME Conclave on April 10, which will comprise technical seminars, panel discussions, exhibitions, and vendor development initiatives for micro and small businesses.
The conclave will also honor outstanding performances by MSME units operating in the South Gujarat region during the 2024–25 financial year.
Awards will be distributed in five categories: Women entrepreneurs, defined as businesses with 51 percent or more women ownership; young entrepreneurs, targeting first-generation entrepreneurs under 35 years; Scheduled Caste entrepreneurs; Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs; and a general category for those not included in the first four, comprising individuals from SEBC communities.
“These categories are designed to ensure inclusive recognition and foster entrepreneurship among diverse societal segments,” the official added.
Eligible MSME units will need to apply under their respective categories, with additional information accessible via the relevant District Industries Centres.
The state Industries Department has urged MSME units and entrepreneurs throughout South Gujarat to engage actively in the conference and conclave, highlighting that this event presents a chance to showcase capabilities, explore partnerships, and access institutional support within the region.
