Gandhinagar, Sep 25 (NationPress) During the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference – North Gujarat, the local administration of Patan hosted the 'Vibrant Gujarat, Vibrant Patan' Summit at the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University Convention Hall, graced by Minister of State Jagdish Vishwakarma.
At this summit, industrialists from Patan entered into MoUs worth Rs 43 crore with the Gujarat government, paving the way for the creation of over 500 new jobs.
This event was a precursor to the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027 and served as a collaborative platform for entrepreneurs, MSMEs, and policymakers.
Sessions at the conference emphasized various government initiatives including the Single Window Clearance Act, MSME policies, Atmanirbhar Gujarat Yojana 2022, Gujarat Textile Policy 2019, ZED certification process, and the PM Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme.
Industry experts provided insights on banking, finance, and opportunities within the government e-marketplace.
Minister Vishwakarma addressed attendees, stating, "Since the inception of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in 2003, the state has experienced an extraordinary transformation. Gujarat has established itself as India's growth engine, gaining a global reputation for investment and development."
He noted that reforms in GST and state initiatives under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel are propelling the vision of a self-reliant Gujarat.
Currently, North Gujarat contributes $3.3 billion to the state's exports, with Patan alone being responsible for $22.96 million.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of preserving local crafts such as Patola weaving, which has achieved international acclaim through government initiatives under the "Mind to Market" program.
The summit also featured an exhibition displaying products from MSMEs, handicrafts, handlooms, terracotta art, patchwork, Patola textiles, organic and millet-based foods, Ayurvedic medicines, natural farming products, and GI-tagged crafts.
District officials, including Collector Tushar Bhatt, District Development Officer C.L. Patel, and senior representatives from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation, industrial associations, women's groups, and farmer-producer organizations, actively participated.
According to Mamta Verma, Principal Secretary of Industries and District In-charge Secretary, "This summit marks the first time it has been extended to the district level, allowing each region to showcase its unique identity and potential."
Focusing on local entrepreneurship, exports, and job creation, the 'Vibrant Gujarat, Vibrant Patan' Summit reinforced the state's commitment to leading India's economic advancement.
