Mysuru (Karnataka), Jan 17 (NationPress) The President of Karnataka BJP and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra has criticized the Congress-led state government for allowing the law and order situation to decline due to appeasement politics. In a media interaction on Friday, Vijayendra claimed that the government’s initiatives favoring minority groups have emboldened anti-national factions.

“The administration is failing to take measures against anti-national activities stemming from some segments of the minority community. This has fostered a climate where individuals feel unrestricted in their actions,” Vijayendra remarked.

He pointed to recent incidents, such as the assault of a minor girl in Kalaburagi, the mutilation of cow udders in Bengaluru’s Chamarajpet, and an ATM heist accompanied by a shootout in Bidar, as evidence of the government's inability to uphold law and order.

Vijayendra also condemned the government for its escalating corruption. He referenced the tragic suicide of a contractor in Kalaburagi, accusing the police of mishandling the case and mistreating the contractor’s family. He alleged that a Congress leader linked to this incident was only arrested after intervention from the BJP but is now receiving preferential treatment while incarcerated.

Comparing this to the administration of former BJP Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, he asserted that Yeddyurappa prioritized Mysuru’s growth by allocating significant funds. Vijayendra questioned the current government's dedication to the district, particularly as it is Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's home constituency.

Vijayendra claimed that internal strife within the Congress party is undermining the state government. He asserted that Siddaramaiah is finding it challenging to complete his term due to dissent from Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar and other ministers who are aspiring for the top position.

“Conflict within Congress has persisted for the last 15 days. Siddaramaiah is reluctant to resign, while D.K. Shivakumar is eager to ascend as the next Chief Minister. This situation might escalate into physical confrontations,” Vijayendra cautioned.

He suggested that around 8-10 ministers are contending for the Chief Minister role, resulting in administrative stagnation and lack of growth throughout the state.

Vijayendra further criticized the government for overlooking vital issues, including farmers' grievances and industrial advancement. He mentioned that vendors linked to KEONICS, a state-owned electronics corporation, have appealed to the President for mercy killings due to their dire circumstances.

The BJP leader accused Siddaramaiah of exploiting caste census data for political gain. He highlighted that Siddaramaiah expedited the caste census report in 2016 but failed to implement it during his prior term as Chief Minister.

Amidst political instability, the report has re-emerged, according to Vijayendra. He described the census as “unscientific” and noted resistance from various communities, including the Vokkaligas and Lingayats. He also claimed that segments of the report were intentionally leaked to incite political turmoil.
