New Delhi, Sep 14 (NationPress) Agricultural scientists from various regions of India are embarking on visits to villages under the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, concentrating on Rabi crops. Their goal is to engage with farmers, disseminate crucial information, address their concerns, and contribute to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Lab to Land' initiative.
Following the remarkable success of the initial phase of the 'Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan', the second phase is about to commence under the guidance of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
To kickstart these efforts, a two-day 'National Agricultural Conference — ‘Rabi Abhiyan 2025' is scheduled to take place at Pusa Campus, New Delhi from September 15, as per ministry announcements.
This national conference for Rabi crops aims to serve as a platform for agricultural experts, scientists, policy makers, and senior representatives from state governments nationwide. They will engage in in-depth discussions regarding preparations, production targets, and strategies for the upcoming sowing season of Rabi 2025-26.
The conference will be presided over by Chouhan. Agriculture ministers from multiple states, the Union Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, the Director General of ICAR, and other officials from pertinent central ministries and states are expected to attend, according to the ministry.
On the first day, key issues related to Rabi crops will be addressed by officials from both central and state governments.
On September 16, all State Agriculture Ministers, the Union Agriculture Minister, and Ministers of State (MoS) will engage in extensive discussions. They will review and explore effective methods for delivering new technologies and seeds to farmers. For the first time, Krishi Vigyan Kendra scientists will also be present to share regional experiences and challenges, aiding in future strategy development.
The program will feature parallel technical sessions covering various topics. Experts, scientists, and state representatives will present findings, and practical solutions will emerge through open dialogue.
This conference will not only outline the action plan and production strategies for the Rabi 2025-26 season but will also represent a significant step towards enhancing farmers' income, fostering sustainable agricultural systems, and ensuring national food security.
