New Delhi, Jan 20 (NationPress) Some forces hostile to the nation continually concoct recipes for chaos — absolute turmoil, stated Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday, just a day after an FIR was filed against Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, regarding his remark on "fighting against the Indian state".
“These elements are always poised to destabilize the country, obstruct its advancement, stain its institutions, and damage the reputation of its esteemed figures. Such influences must be neutralized, countered, and eradicated,” remarked Dhankhar during the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the Nandlal Nuwal Centre of Indology at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
He also commented on the loss of parliamentary business hours, stating, “A democratic polity flourishes through discourse. Expression and dialogue are essential to democracy. We cannot assert that we live in a democracy if we lack the right to express ourselves. Nevertheless, expression devoid of dialogue is insufficient.”
“The absence of dialogue can be catastrophic! It can sound the death knell for our democratic institutions. Acknowledging diverse perspectives is the lifeblood of democracy. Democracy thrives through inclusive dialogue, free from fear or mockery,” he articulated.
Dhankhar noted that a glimpse into our Indological heritage highlights the importance of dialogue and discourse in resolving conflicts. “Our scriptures and history stress that dialogue can resolve disputes and uphold society,” he emphasized.
“I firmly believe, friends, that adhering to these principles of dialogue, discussion, and expression would help lower the political temperature in the country, which is currently concerning. Offers must be extended by all parties to facilitate dialogue at every level in democracy. A robust dialogue and discourse will always favor the nation’s well-being,” he asserted.
He also called upon citizens to play a role in the journey towards progress.
“We are entering the last quarter of our independence's century, and thus, we must resolve ourselves with enthusiasm, vigor, and mission to ensure that the noble principles of Indology guide us to a developed nation by 2047,” he added.
