New Delhi, June 26 (NationPress) The Delhi Police have initiated an inquiry into the tragic demise of a woman who reportedly succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment after experiencing sexual assault at a public hospital.
A police unit led by the SP of Usmanpur arrived at the government-operated hospital in North-East Delhi this morning to interrogate the individuals involved and speak with hospital personnel regarding the incident. The administration of the hospital has also set up a four-member team to aid the police in resolving the case, which has left the residents of the national capital in disbelief.
A 23-year-old woman was reportedly sexually assaulted by another patient at Jag Pravesh Chandra hospital two days prior. She passed away during treatment at GTB hospital on Wednesday, as per police reports. A complaint regarding the molestation was lodged at New Usmanpur station on June 23.
The authorities indicated that the woman, believed to be homeless, had been admitted to JPC hospital on June 21. On June 23, while stepping outside the ward, she was allegedly molested by another patient, leading to her transfer to GTB hospital where she ultimately passed away. Following this tragic event, police apprehended a 23-year-old male and charged him with assault.
