New Delhi, July 3 (NationPress) In a disturbing incident, a woman and her teenage son were discovered deceased in their residence located in Lajpat Nagar, as reported by the police on Thursday.
The victims have been identified as Ruchika Sewani, aged 42, and her 14-year-old son Krish Sewani, a Class 10 student. According to police statements, Ruchika operated a garment store at the Lajpat Nagar market with her husband, Kuldeep Sewani.
Concerned when his calls to Ruchika and Krish went unanswered and finding the apartment door locked from within, along with blood stains on the gate and chairs, Kuldeep contacted the police.
Responding to the alert at 9:43 p.m. on Wednesday, a police team led by a Station House Officer quickly arrived and forced entry into the flat.
Upon entering, they discovered the lifeless bodies of Ruchika and Krish.
The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination.
Police have apprehended one suspect in connection with the case, identified as Mukesh, a 24-year-old from Hajipur, Bihar.
Mukesh, who lived in Amar Colony, was employed as a driver and worked at the garment shop, according to the police report.
The motive behind this heinous act remains unclear.

In a separate incident earlier on Wednesday, the police arrested a man involved in the murder of his 19-year-old neighbor in Narela, Delhi, whom he strangled and then burned.
The suspect, Sumit (27), confessed to killing Kapil Dahiya after the latter allegedly threatened him. Dahiya's body was located near the Narela-Bawana flyover on June 29. During interrogation, Sumit admitted to the murder.
