Lucknow, Oct 14 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has delivered an exciting Diwali surprise for more than 14 lakh state government employees by announcing a bonus of up to Rs 6,908 each for the fiscal year 2024-25, according to an official report.
This initiative is set to incur a total cost of approximately Rs 1,022 crore, as stated by an official from the Chief Minister's Office.
In a social media post, CM Adityanath expressed, “Employees up to Salary Matrix Level-8 will be eligible for a bonus of up to Rs 6,908 per qualifying employee, calculated on the basis of 30 days' remuneration. This is a token of appreciation from @UPGovt for the loyalty, dedication, and contributions of our employees.”
The CM Office conveyed, “We wish to extend heartfelt congratulations to all state employees and send early Diwali wishes.”
“The UPCM @myogiadityanath has instructed that the distribution of bonuses to eligible staff be conducted promptly, ensuring that every family can enjoy this festive occasion with happiness and enthusiasm,” the statement added.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the contributions of government employees are crucial for the state’s development, reaffirming the government’s commitment to their welfare at all levels.
“This financial incentive before Diwali will uplift the spirits of state employees' families and invigorate governance and administration. Congratulations to all state employees and early Diwali wishes,” the post noted.
Previously, CM Adityanath mentioned the importance of having reliable and comprehensive data to assess advancements in major sectors like agriculture, industry, health, and education. He assured ongoing institutional backing for all statistical initiatives within the state.
He participated in a high-level meeting with Professor Rajiva Laxman Karandikar, Chairman of the National Statistical Commission (NSC), along with other members, alongside Saurabh Garg, Secretary of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) and Member Secretary of the NSC.
CM Adityanath expressed his appreciation for the suggestions made and indicated the state's eagerness to work closely with MoSPI and NSC.
The discussions revolved around fortifying Uttar Pradesh's statistical framework to align with its vision of evolving into a one trillion-dollar economy.
The Chief Minister lauded the cooperative efforts of MoSPI and NSC in enhancing data quality, especially regarding State GDP estimation, Consumer Price Index, employment metrics, and industrial statistics.
He also stressed the state government's dedication to data-driven planning and real-time oversight through initiatives such as the CM Dashboard and the One Trillion Economy Mission.
The NSC Chairman accentuated the essential role of dependable statistics in crafting evidence-based public policies.
Karandikar reiterated the NSC’s commitment to assist the state in methodological and technical domains such as Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) estimation, price statistics, and survey design.
