Gorakhpur, Dec 9 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a strong warning on Tuesday against individuals and groups striving to create divides within society and the nation based on caste, region, or language. He stated that such actions are equivalent to the “sins of Jaichand and Mir Jafar.”
“Certain individuals aim to fracture the country—some using caste as a weapon, others exploiting regionalism, and yet others promoting linguistic divides,” he remarked. He further added, “When these forces rise to power, their focus shifts solely to personal gain, acquiring properties, hotels, and even islands abroad, all while conspiring to plunge the nation into despair.”
CM Yogi underscored that the welfare of the nation can only be achieved through unity and the elimination of discrimination.
He was delivering his address as the chief guest at the inauguration of a newly constructed auditorium at Sainik School Gorakhpur, which can accommodate over 1,000 individuals. The auditorium has been dedicated to General Bipin Rawat, India’s first Chief of Defence Staff.
During the event, Yogi Adityanath unveiled a statue of General Rawat, which was erected by the GBR Memorial Foundation of India in honor of his fourth death anniversary. He also published a booklet highlighting his life and contributions.
Reflecting on General Rawat's significant role in national security, the Chief Minister discussed the current challenges that India faces and encouraged citizens to embrace the five pledges proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
He articulated that these five pledges should act as “eternal life mantras.” Noting the Amrit Mahotsav celebration of independence in 2022, he highlighted the Prime Minister’s call for a detailed plan for the India envisioned by 2047, the centenary of independence.
“Would any genuine Indian desire a poor, insecure, or weak India?” he questioned, asserting, “A genuine Indian aspires for a robust, developed, and self-reliant India. Anyone who disagrees cannot claim to be a true Indian.”
While expanding upon the Prime Minister’s pledges, CM Yogi emphasized the importance of honoring brave soldiers and national icons. “We must take pride in the legacies of Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Guru Gobind Singh, and Rani Lakshmibai. No society advances by dismissing its heritage,” he stated.
He insisted that India must abandon the colonial mindset that belittles indigenous products. “We need to demonstrate to the world that we can create everything through our own capabilities. Uttar Pradesh and the nation are swiftly moving in this direction.”
Questioning the glorification of Alexander, he remarked, “Why refer to Alexander as ‘the Great’? For us, Maharana Pratap, Veer Shivaji, General Bipin Rawat, and Param Vir Chakra awardees are the true greats.”
He added, “We rest easy because our soldiers protect our borders, paramilitary forces vigilantly patrol, and police personnel diligently maintain order.”
Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, Director General of Assam Rifles, also spoke at the event, recognizing General Rawat’s service to the nation as “worthy of being inscribed in golden letters.”
