New Delhi, April 13 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday delivered a sharp critique of the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing them of being chronic exploiters of Dalits and other disadvantaged groups, during a significant address at the ‘Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Samman Abhiyan’ workshop in Lucknow.
“These parties that advocate for social justice are the very ones that, in reality, strip Dalits of their fundamental rights,” stated CM Yogi.
“Whenever there is illegal encroachment on Dalit homes or land, it’s these parties that are involved. They occupy land designated for the underprivileged. However, under our administration, stringent measures are being implemented to safeguard the marginalized,” he added.
Addressing a troubling event in Murshidabad, West Bengal, the Chief Minister remarked, “Three Hindu individuals were viciously murdered and their residences destroyed, yet those advocating for equality and justice remain silent when the reality contradicts their narrative.”
He emphasized the opposition's ongoing disrespect towards icons of Indian history and unity. “They idolize Aurangzeb in Maharashtra while disparaging Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. They choose to honor Jinnah while we commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with ‘Run for Unity’,” he stated, claiming that the SP once celebrated Jinnah on Patel’s birth anniversary.
He further charged these parties with utilizing the Constitution as a political instrument.
“Before elections, they flaunt copies of the Constitution, pretending to uphold it, yet these are the same individuals who conspired to defeat Babasaheb Ambedkar in 1952 and 1954,” said Yogi, recalling how Ambedkar faced political sabotage and was denied a parliamentary position.
“In 1952, they orchestrated Babasaheb's defeat by 78,000 votes. Again in 1954, Nehru himself campaigned against him. That’s the heritage of these parties,” he asserted.
As the 10-day state-wide awareness campaign unfolds, the Chief Minister framed it as a movement to “reveal the true nature of those who have historically belittled great leaders from Shivaji to Ambedkar, from Patel to Maharana Pratap.”
