New Delhi, Aug 3 (NationPress) The CEO of US-based artificial intelligence (AI) company OpenAI, Sam Altman, has urged ChatGPT users to exercise patience. He emphasized that the upcoming launches of features and models might lead to "potential disruptions and capacity issues".
In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), Altman stated, “We have a plethora of features, models, and products lined up for release in the coming months. Kindly be patient with us as we navigate through possible disruptions and capacity challenges. While it may be a bit bumpy, we believe you will truly appreciate what we have prepared for you!”
Although Altman refrained from detailing the specific new models, various reports suggest that OpenAI is set to unveil its GPT-5 model in early August. This cutting-edge model is expected to be the first large language model (LLM) from the ChatGPT developer that includes unified reasoning capabilities, negating the necessity for users to select a reasoning model for complex tasks.
Additionally, OpenAI has announced the introduction of its first-ever open-weights model this month.
The GPT-5 model is said to possess the ability to discern when to perform extended reasoning. In a recent podcast with The Verge, Altman hinted at the new functionalities of GPT-5, sharing that the model had assisted him in responding to a challenging email that he found difficult to tackle.
“I was experimenting with our new model when I received an email that posed a question I didn't fully comprehend. I submitted it to the model, and GPT-5 provided a perfect answer. I was taken aback,” he remarked.
“I felt somewhat inadequate compared to the AI, given that I should have been able to handle it but couldn't. The AI made it seem effortless,” he added.
Earlier this year, Altman revealed that users on the free tier of GPT-5 would have unlimited chats at the standard intelligence level, whereas ChatGPT Plus subscribers would be allowed to operate GPT-5 at a higher intelligence tier, and Pro subscribers could utilize the latest model at an “even higher intelligence level.”
