Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 13 (NationPress) The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has successfully conducted the Demo Day for the second cohort of the 'Samarth' incubation initiative, showcasing 18 innovative startups, as announced on Friday.
'Samarth' serves as a premier incubation program tailored for startups in the telecom and ICT sectors, organized in two six-month cohorts, with the capacity to support up to 18 startups per cohort, thereby enabling a total of 36 startups to address five significant problem statements spanning telecom applications, cybersecurity, 5G/6G technologies, artificial intelligence, IoT, and quantum technologies.
The program has partnered with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) for effective implementation.
As per the official statement, this initiative has provided comprehensive support, including financial grants of Rs 5 lakh per startup, alongside fully equipped office spaces and access to advanced laboratory facilities at C-DOT's campuses in Delhi and Bengaluru.
Unique features of the Samarth incubation program include expert mentorship from C-DOT scientists and intensive acceleration sessions led by industry leaders covering various topics such as Product Development Lifecycle, creating a minimum viable product, financial management, Go-To-Market strategies, legal and IP considerations, and techniques for pitching and fund raising.
C-DOT operates as an autonomous telecom research and development institution under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
The 18 startups from Cohort-I demonstrated exceptional results during the Demo Day held in September 2025. Based on their performance, the top five startups — Turtleneck Systems & Solutions, Purvanchal Engineering Systems, Vital Carbon, Agriverse Innovations, and Jumps Automation — were selected to receive the Stage-II grant.
Building on this success, Cohort-II was initiated in July 2025, concentrating on five specialized problem statements in areas like AI, Li-Fi, Security, and drones.
“The innovators participating in cohort II showcased their technological advancements with impressive outcomes, receiving accolades from industry experts and investors present at the event,” the statement noted.
