New Delhi, March 6 (NationPress) Meditation, yoga, and fasting are fundamental aspects of preventive healthcare, stated Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Labour and Employment as well as Youth Affairs and Sports, on Thursday.
This assertion was made during a seminar titled "Health Challenges and Healthy Lifestyle," hosted by Arogya Bharti in partnership with ESIC Medical College and Hospital in Faridabad, Haryana.
While addressing attendees, Mandaviya underscored the significance of preventive and promotive healthcare in fostering a healthy and fit India.
He referred to India's rich healthcare heritage by acknowledging the insights of ancient Indian medical scholars such as Charak, Sushruta, and Lord Dhanwantari.
“Meditation, yoga, and fasting are vital components of preventive healthcare,” he remarked during the inauguration of three advanced medical facilities at ESIC Medical College.
He also launched digital mammography services at the hospital—an advanced imaging machine that utilizes high-resolution digital detectors, particularly advantageous for the early detection and assessment of breast cancer.
The 1000 mA Digital Radiography Fluoroscopy (DRF) system inaugurated by the Minister represents a state-of-the-art diagnostic tool for high-quality X-ray imaging and fluoroscopic-guided procedures, enhancing diagnostic capabilities for insured workers and their families.
Moreover, Mandaviya introduced a next-generation sequencing (NGS) application, a pioneering technology that supports oncology research, RNA sequencing, and pathogen identification, paving the way for precision medicine.
“The inclusion of these facilities will greatly enhance diagnostic and treatment services for insured workers and their dependents, guaranteeing access to world-class healthcare within the ESIC network,” remarked the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The seminar saw enthusiastic participation from doctors, paramedics, medical students, industrial workers, and representatives from industrial associations and Arogya Bharti, all showcasing a collective dedication to preventive healthcare and holistic wellness.
