Bengaluru, Nov 18 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, D. K. Shivakumar, expressed his contentment on Tuesday regarding the state's hosting of a significant international event in Bengaluru, asserting that the city has established itself as a global center for innovation and talent.
While addressing the press in Bengaluru, Shivakumar expressed pride in the participation of nearly 60 countries in the event, highlighting the strong interest shown by global investors in Bengaluru.
He stated, “Numerous investors are stepping forward to invest billions of dollars in Bengaluru,” affirming the city’s growing economic potential.
Shivakumar noted the extensive scale of the event, mentioning that thousands of speakers would be engaging in discussions over the following three days to “shape the city”.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized Bengaluru's unparalleled human resource strength, particularly with its over 2.5 million IT professionals, which is unmatched globally.
He assured all participants that the government was dedicated to facilitating ease of doing business in the city.
“World leaders meet with me daily, eager to invest and visit Bengaluru. We are committed to supporting them in every possible manner,” he stated.
He acknowledged the contributions of IT Minister Priyank Kharge and MLA Sharath Bachche Gowda, who is also the Chairman of the Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation (KEONICS).
Shivakumar revealed plans for a new IT city in the Greater Bengaluru area, including regions near Bidadi.
Addressing the increasing global concern over cybercrimes, he mentioned that the state government has implemented measures to combat such offenses in Bengaluru.
He encouraged students to innovate and compete on a global stage, promising support for entrepreneurial ventures and start-up ideas.
“The representatives of the world are present, and they have confidence in us,” he emphasized.
According to Shivakumar, approximately 50,000 individuals are attending the event, with 1,200 major companies, including all 400 Fortune companies, participating. He assured that the government would provide all necessary support for their investments and job creation.
In response to ongoing criticism about potholes in the city, he remarked, “We welcome the criticism, and it is our duty to serve the people.”
