New Delhi, Aug 15 (NationPress) The recently launched e-Sushrut@Clinics aims to empower healthcare professionals and establish an interoperable digital health ecosystem, as stated by Union Health Secretary Smt. Punya Salila Srivastava.
The National Health Authority (NHA) and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement e-Sushrut@Clinic.
e-Sushrut@Clinic offers a lightweight, cloud-based Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) tailored for outpatient clinics, specifically designed for small and medium healthcare providers. This initiative signifies a crucial advancement in extending the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) ecosystem, which seeks to foster the establishment of a cohesive digital health infrastructure across the nation.
“There has long been a demand for an affordable, government-supported HMIS. Through our collaboration with C-DAC, we anticipate that e-Sushrut@Clinic will empower and serve thousands of doctors and facility managers nationwide, enhancing efficiency, data security, and patient satisfaction,” Srivastava noted.
“Being an ABDM-enabled version, it will facilitate the adoption of ABDM and assist in creating an interoperable digital health ecosystem,” she added.
Recognizing that numerous AIIMS hospitals effectively utilize C-DAC’s systems, e-Sushrut@Clinic was developed to extend the same trusted solutions to private healthcare stakeholders.
With the official backing of the NHA, this initiative provides a secure and dependable platform, fulfilling a critical requirement for a trusted Health Management Information System in the private sector.
“This partnership with the National Health Authority is a significant milestone towards advancing digital healthcare throughout the country. By simplifying digital adoption for healthcare providers, it will accelerate the creation of a transparent and interconnected digital health ecosystem, ultimately delivering faster and more reliable care to patients across the board,” said Vivek Khaneja, Executive Director of C-DAC.
The application crafted by C-DAC is a streamlined version of their flagship e-Sushrut HMIS software, which is currently operational in 17 AIIMS and over 4,000 health facilities nationwide.
Healthcare providers can onboard the software via their laptop or mobile device through the Health Facility Registry (HFR) and Health Professionals Registry (HPR).
If a healthcare provider is not registered on HFR/HPR, they can register directly on e-Sushrut@Clinic.
“This will significantly simplify the process for doctors in both public and private clinics to access and update patient health records, provide telemedicine services, and streamline diagnostics and prescriptions. e-Sushrut@Clinic is designed for outpatient management, pharmacy, and nursing modules, offering essential functionalities at a low per-user cost,” stated the Ministry of Health.
The platform allows small clinics, sub-centers, and medium-sized hospitals to digitize patient records, prescriptions, and billing with minimal technical complexity.
