IPL 2025: Varun Aaron Commends Vipraj's Stellar Performance Against RCB as a Valuable Asset for Delhi Capitals

New Delhi, April 11 (NationPress) Former Indian fast bowler Varun Aaron has lauded the rising all-rounder Vipraj Nigam, referring to him as a "great find" for the Delhi Capitals after his exceptional all-round display secured a six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025.

During an interview on JioStar post-match, Aaron emphasized Nigam’s significant contributions with both bat and ball, and the increasing value of homegrown talent in a league typically dominated by international players.

"Vipraj was outstanding tonight, he’s a great find for Delhi Capitals. He has excelled with the ball and, as we’ve witnessed, can be quite destructive with the bat as well. Looking ahead, he represents excellent value for the investment made by Delhi Capitals. We require more domestic players like him to rise to the occasion in the IPL and help clinch crucial victories for their teams," stated Aaron.

Nigam’s performance is part of an intriguing narrative for the Delhi Capitals this season—an underappreciated core of Indian players. Against RCB, he concluded with figures of 2 for 18 in four overs, including the pivotal wicket of Virat Kohli, and collaborated with Kuldeep Yadav, who took 2 for 17, to stifle RCB’s middle order. The pair bowled a total of 23 dot balls, limiting Bengaluru to just 163/7, despite an initial barrage from Phil Salt and Kohli.

The trio of spinners for DC—Axar Patel, Kuldeep, and Nigam—has established itself as one of the most formidable spin units in the league. Their capability to bowl effectively across different phases, combined with Axar and Nigam's all-round skills, provides KL Rahul’s team with a highly competitive balance.
