New Delhi, Aug 3 (NationPress) The fourth iteration of the AIFF Futsal Club Championship 2024-25 is set to commence on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Shri Manoj Sarkar Stadium – Shivalik Hall in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand.
In a thrilling double-header on the opening day of Group A, Triumph FC will go up against Real Lona FC before the 2022-23 champions, Minerva Academy FC, take on Juggernaut FC, as reported by AIFF.
Seventeen teams will compete over a span of 16 days for the prestigious futsal title, culminating on August 18. The teams have been divided into four groups, with three groups featuring four teams each and one group consisting of five teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.
Commencing with five teams, Group A will feature a match between two clubs making their debut in the Futsal Club Championship — Triumph FC from Himachal Pradesh, and Real Lona FC from Ladakh. Also returning after a year are Gujarat’s Juggernaut FC and Nagaland’s Aphuyemi FC, both of whom were eliminated at the group stage in the previous season and are eager to improve this time around. Minerva Academy FC, who were champions in the 2022-23 season and quarter-finalists last year, are one of the most seasoned teams in the competition and will strive to be the first club to claim the trophy twice.
Group B is expected to be especially competitive, featuring last year’s finalists — the defending champions and local favorites Corbett FC, along with Golazo FC from Himachal Pradesh. The Uttarakhand team triumphed 3-2 in a nail-biting final in Vadodara last season, and the rematch on August 11 is highly anticipated. Despite being newcomers, Bhawanipore FC from West Bengal has put together an experienced squad that should not be underestimated. Thlangtiang Futsal Club from Mizoram rounds out the group, aiming to become the third Mizo club to reach the final four in the championship’s history.
Group C also includes three teams making their championship debut — K3 Futsal Club from Karnataka, Pondicherry United Football Academy from Pondicherry, and Hazrat Nizamuddin Club from Madhya Pradesh. The latter two will be only the second clubs from their respective state associations to compete at the national level. Meanwhile, Goal Hunterz FC from Delhi will be participating for the third consecutive time, hoping to finally qualify for the knockout stage after missing out in the previous two seasons.
In Group D, last season’s semi-finalists, Ambelim SC from Goa, will face three debutant clubs — Real Malabar FC Kondotty from Kerala, OGP Club from Odisha, and TOFA from Telangana. Real Malabar will make history as the first club from Kerala to participate in the Futsal Club Championship. TOFA will take over representation for Telangana from Speed Force FC, who have participated in the last three seasons, while OGP will be the third club from Odisha to feature in the tournament after Mangala Club and Sports Odisha.
