Axar Patel Welcomes His Baby Boy, Haksh Patel

New Delhi, December 24 (NationPress) India all-rounder Axar Patel shared a touching announcement on Tuesday, revealing the arrival of his baby boy, Haksh Patel.

Axar took to Instagram to express his joy, posting a photo of his son, who was clad in a miniature Indian team jersey, grasping his parents' hands.

"He’s still learning about the off side from the leg, but we couldn’t hold back from introducing him to all of you in blue. World, please welcome Haksh Patel, India’s tiniest yet most passionate fan, and the most treasured part of our lives," Axar captioned the post.

Axar's name was under consideration for a position in the Indian team for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, captain Rohit Sharma addressed the rumors during a press conference, explaining the selection of Mumbai off-spinning all-rounder Tanush Kotian as a replacement for Ravichandran Ashwin.

Rohit clarified that Axar was not available for selection due to personal obligations following the birth of his son. Moreover, Axar's performance in foreign conditions was also considered. Despite being a key player in India’s spin attack, his effectiveness has mainly been seen on home turf.

Kuldeep Yadav, who provides a distinct left-arm wrist-spin option, is currently recovering from hernia surgery and is not fit for selection. Conversely, Axar Patel had personal commitments that rendered him unavailable for travel. Taking into account the overseas conditions and team balance, the selectors decided on Kotian.
