Visakhapatnam, Sep 8 (NationPress) The Bengaluru Bulls achieved a remarkable 40-33 victory against the Haryana Steelers thanks to an outstanding performance from Alireza Mirzaian, who notched his second consecutive Super 10. The defensive prowess of Deepak Sankar and captain Yogesh also played a vital role in this Season 12 match of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) at the Vishwanadh Sports Club on Monday.
The match kicked off with Shivam Patare putting the Steelers on the board with a successful raid. However, the Bulls quickly countered as Alireza made his mark. Within the first five minutes, the Bulls launched a significant attack and executed an ALL OUT, racing to a 9-2 lead — marking the fastest ALL OUT of the season at just 4:20 minutes. The Steelers found some footing through Mayank Saini, who made an impressive Super Raid, narrowing the gap. At this point, Saini was instrumental, contributing 6 of the team’s first eight points. Nevertheless, the Bulls retained control, heading into the first Time Out with a 13-8 advantage.
Following the break, the Bulls further widened their lead thanks to a robust defensive display, which included a Super Tackle that added two points. The Steelers fought back, executing an ALL OUT to reduce the deficit to 15-13. Despite their efforts, the Bulls continued to dominate, leading 21-18 at halftime.
The second half began with a strong push from the Bulls, as Aashish Malik secured a raid point, followed by a tactical tackle from Yogesh, extending their lead to 23-18. Although the Bulls appeared to be in command, the Haryana Steelers rallied through Jaya Soorya, whose Super Raid brought them within three points at 24-21.
However, momentum shifted back to the Bulls as Alireza took charge once again. His critical raid resulted in an ALL OUT, increasing their lead to 29-22. Shortly after, he completed his Super 10 with another successful raid, pushing the score to 31-23. On the defensive side, Yogesh continued to shine with his consistent performance, adding another point and achieving a High Five, making it 32-24 before the second-half Time Out.
Despite the Steelers' attempts to recover, Mirzaian kept scoring, adding two more points to set the score at 34-25. The Bulls managed to maintain their composure and secured the match with a final score of 40-33.
