Bhatinda Royals batting coach Manish Bhatia has expressed strong confidence in the team's squad balance ahead of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League, stating the franchise is well equipped across all departments. Speaking from Chandigarh on 25 August, Bhatia highlighted the blend of experienced internationals and promising young talent as the foundation of the Royals' campaign.

Bowling Depth Built Around Gurnoor Brar

Bhatia singled out the bowling unit as a particular strength, anchored by India international and team captain Gurnoor Brar. 'In a winning team, a strong bowling attack is very important, and I feel we are well covered in that department. We have our captain and India player Gurnoor Brar, along with left-arm pacer Ashwini, who has been part of the Mumbai Indians setup,' Bhatia said.

He added that the presence of several all-rounders capable of contributing with both bat and ball gives the side a well-rounded bowling unit — a critical asset in the fast-paced T20 format.

Uday Saharan: The Player to Watch

On the batting front, Bhatia reserved particular praise for vice-captain Uday Saharan, describing him as the backbone of the Royals' line-up. 'Our vice-captain, Uday Saharan, is the backbone of this team. He is in excellent form, and his presence gives a lot of confidence to the entire squad,' Bhatia said.

Bhatia pointed to Saharan's leadership credentials as further evidence of his maturity. 'Last year, we made Uday Saharan the captain of Punjab, and he continues to lead the side. He is already an experienced leader in red-ball cricket and has shown great maturity at a young age,' he noted. When asked to name one player to watch in the tournament, Bhatia did not hesitate: 'If there is one player to watch out for in this tournament, it is Uday Saharan. I genuinely believe he has a bright future ahead of him.'

Beyond the marquee names, Bhatia highlighted that the batting roster draws heavily from Punjab's age-group circuit — players who have represented the state at various youth levels and are now ready to step up in a competitive franchise environment.
