Chennai, May 16 (NationPress) Cricketers Noor Ahmad and Vijay Shankar from the Chennai Super Kings made a special visit to the Super Kings Academy located at SV High School in Vanagaram, Chennai, on Friday, engaging with young cricket enthusiasts.
Accompanying them were esteemed guests including Lakshmi Narayanan (High Performance Analyst), Louis Mariano (Director of Cricket), Rajiv Krishna (Managing Director), Moushmi Rajiv (Director), and Dhivakar (MI Sports).
The Super Kings Academy boasts over 25 centres across India, the USA, the UK, and Australia.
During the session, all-rounder Vijay Shankar shared valuable advice with the children, emphasizing the importance of focusing on personal growth rather than comparing themselves to others.
“Visiting any academy is always special. Transitioning from academy cricket to state-level cricket is a journey that never ends. Even Sachin Tendulkar acknowledged that learning is a continuous process,” he remarked.
Shankar urged parents to stand by their children through all challenges. “Without my parents, I wouldn't be where I am today. Parents, please support your children, whether they are at their peak or facing difficulties. I learned from MS Dhoni that maintaining a neutral stance is essential, regardless of highs and lows. Dream big, and enjoy your cricket!”
On this occasion, spinner Noor Ahmad highlighted his approach to bowling: “I focus on my technique rather than obsessing over taking wickets. Success in cricket stems from executing good deliveries consistently.”
The Super Kings Academy serves both boys and girls, featuring cutting-edge infrastructure and expert coaching, with over 25 centres worldwide.
Opened in April 2022, the academy operates in various Indian cities such as Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and several others, as well as international locations like Reading (UK), Dallas, Phoenix, Austin, Boston, Atlanta, Bay Area (USA), and Sydney (Australia).
Currently, the Chennai Super Kings are facing a challenging season in IPL 2025, positioned at the bottom of the points table with just six points from 12 matches.
