Guwahati, March 30 (NationPress) The Chennai Super Kings have won the toss and chosen to bowl first against the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 match at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. CSK's captain Ruturaj Gaikwad announced two changes in the playing eleven, with Jamie Overton and Vijay Shankar replacing Sam Curran and Deepak Hooda.
"We will bowl first. The wicket looks promising, even better than the previous match held here, so we're looking to chase down the target. It’s been a quick turnaround for us with minimal time, but that’s the nature of the IPL. We must be prepared. It’s our first time here as a franchise, and we appreciate all the support we’ve received. The two changes are Jamie Overton for Sam Curran and Vijay Shankar for Deepak Hooda," he said during the toss.
Conversely, the home team maintained the same lineup despite their loss against the defending champions, the Kolkata Knight Riders, in their last match.
"I would have made the same choice. This is my hometown, where I grew up playing cricket, so it’s surreal to compete in front of this crowd. We've shown promise in segments; it’s now about uniting and delivering a solid team performance. We are sticking with the same team," remarked Riyan Parag, the stand-in captain of Rajasthan.
