In the first semifinal, Delhi showcased their strength against the Sports Authority of India (SAI), while Mizoram triumphed over their neighbors, Meghalaya, in a parallel showdown.
Delhi's performance was commanding, as they dismantled the SAI team with remarkable efficiency. Right from the start, Delhi controlled the match's tempo, applying high pressure and exhibiting confident ball movement.
The breakthrough came early in the 15th minute, with a corner that unsettled the SAI defense. Arman Ahmed (15’) soared above his opponent to score a powerful header, giving Delhi a well-deserved lead.
The second half saw Delhi increase their intensity, doubling their lead just five minutes after the restart with a goal from Sankhil Darpol Tuishang (50’), leaving the SAI goalkeeper stranded.
Delhi’s third goal was a moment of individual skill, as Prashan Jajo (54’) finished coolly past the goalkeeper, effectively sealing the match. With the victory nearly secured, Aditya Adhikari added a fourth goal in the 65th minute, set up by a teammate following a fast-paced attack.
This was a complete display from Delhi, characterized by solid defense, midfield dominance, and lethal attacking.
On the other side, Mizoram was equally impressive in their semifinal against Meghalaya, demonstrating their attacking prowess and sharpness in the final third.
Mizoram started strong, pressing with intent and utilizing the flanks effectively. Their opening goal came in the 28th minute when Mesak C. Lalrinngheta took advantage of a defensive mistake to score with precision, showcasing his natural goal-scoring instinct.
Lalrinngheta continued to be a key player and earned a penalty in the 76th minute, which he converted confidently, extending their lead and breaking Meghalaya’s defense.
With momentum in their favor, Mizoram introduced Dantes Lalhriatpuia, who made an immediate impact by scoring in the 83rd minute from a well-executed move. In stoppage time, another substitute, F Vanlalchhanchhuaha (90+2’), capped the victory with a well-placed strike, concluding a dominant performance.
