How Did DPS Vasant Kunj and DAV Sahibabad Dominate on Day 2 of Oriental Cup 2025?

New Delhi, July 22 (NationPress) Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj showcased their prowess during a double-header against Vinay Nagar Bengali Sr Sec School, emerging victorious in both matches on Day 2 of Oriental Cup 2025 at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium this Tuesday.

In additional games, DAV Public School, Sahibabad, and DPS, RK Puram both achieved convincing wins in the boys’ division, while Government Girls Senior Secondary School delivered a commendable performance in the girls' segment of the competition.

Sapphire International School, Noida, kicked off the day with a decisive 2–0 victory over Tagore International School in the boys’ match, thanks to two goals from Atharv Singh. In the girls’ match between the same schools, Tagore International School triumphed 3–2 on penalties following a goalless draw in regular time.

DPS, Vasant Kunj boys’ team secured a 2–0 win with goals from Vihaan Mani and Krishna Kumar, while their girls’ team dominated their opponents 4–0, with Ayushi Gupta scoring twice and Aisha Nair and Aarna Arora each contributing one goal.

In the fifth match, DAV Public School, Sahibabad achieved a 3–1 victory over Father Agnel School, Noida, with goals from Shriansh Nath Tiwari, Sagar Laha, and an own goal from Father Agnel. Aarav Sharma netted the only goal for the Noida team.

Delhi Public School, RK Puram had a varied performance. Their boys' team triumphed 4–1 against Bluebells School in their initial match of the Oriental Cup 2025, with Arhan Gupta scoring twice, while Afraaz Tariq and Jeenesh Vasandani each added one goal. Veer Kashyap scored the sole goal for Bluebells. However, in the girls’ category, Government Girls Senior Secondary School bested DPS RK Puram with a 2–0 victory, courtesy of goals from Palak and Nidhi.

The Oriental Cup 2025 will continue on Wednesday with more knockout matches and second-round fixtures, as teams strive to gain early momentum in their championship chase.

Day 3 will kick off with an exhibition match in the girls’ category featuring MIMA against STRIVE, followed by a boys’ matchup between DAV Faridabad and St. Francis De Sales Sr Sec. School. St. Francis School will also return later to face Navy School in the girls’ category. Venkateshwar International School will compete against Greenfields Public School, while Gov. Sarvodaya Co-ed School will take on Heritage Global School in the boys’ division.

Returning for their second-round matches will be the boys’ and girls’ teams from Mother’s International School, Sanskriti International School, and Amity International (Noida), along with The Air Force School, Subroto Park (Boys) and Tagore International School (Girls), promising another day of thrilling and competitive football action at the Oriental Cup.

The Oriental Cup is recognized by the Delhi Soccer Association for its significant contribution to grassroots football, evolving into a crucial platform where school teams experience structured, competitive play in a professional environment.
