New Delhi, March 12 (NationPress) Former head coach of India, Rahul Dravid, is on the verge of receiving the prestigious Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition, Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill is a strong contender for the Men’s Cricketer of the Year accolade during the upcoming BCCI Awards, scheduled in the capital on March 15.

According to reports from IANS, the annual awards ceremony, titled ‘NAMAN,’ will celebrate the achievements of the recent Men’s T20 World Cup champions, the victorious 2025 Men’s Champions Trophy team, the winning side of the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, and the U19 World Cup champions for both genders, all recognized by the BCCI.

Dravid, who led India to triumph in the 2024 T20 World Cup, is to be honored for his invaluable contributions to Indian cricket. Meanwhile, although Gill did not participate in the recent T20 World Cup, he is still in the running for the Polly Umrigar Award for ‘Best International Cricketer - Men’.

At just 26 years old, Gill accumulated an impressive 983 runs in Tests during 2025, with 754 of those runs coming from a drawn away series against England, where he maintained an average exceeding 70. His performance in ODIs also stood out, as he scored 490 runs, including 188 runs during India’s Champions Trophy-winning campaign.

It has been noted by IANS that several members of the Indian women’s team, who are set to be honored by the BCCI for their World Cup victories at both senior and U19 levels, may be unable to attend the awards ceremony due to their commitments in the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal One-Day Trophy Final in Bengaluru and the Women’s Under 23 One Day Trophy Elite Pre quarter-finals in Ranchi, happening on the same day.

Additional sources have indicated that the Mumbai Cricket Association will be recognized as the top-performing association in domestic cricket for the third year in a row. The duo from Vidarbha, Yash Dubey and Yash Rathod, will receive the Madhavrao Scindia Award for being the highest wicket-taker and run-scorer in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group.

Dubey, who has been part of the India ‘A’ setup since mid-2025, is also expected to be awarded the prestigious Lala Amarnath Award for being recognized as the best all-rounder for the Ranji Trophy 2024/25 season, while Ulhas Gandhe is in contention for the Best Umpire Award.

Shanthanu Singh and Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan will be honored with the Jagmohan Dalmiya Trophy for being the highest run-scorer and wicket-taker in the U16 Vijay Merchant Trophy. Additionally, Nitya J Pandya and Hemchudeshan J will receive the M.A. Chidambaram Trophy for their outstanding performances in the U19 Cooch Behar Trophy.
