Mumbai, Oct 20 (NationPress) Anand Mahindra, Chairman & Team member of the Mahindra Group, has graciously welcomed Chloe Chambers, an American female driver, to Mahindra Racing for the forthcoming Formula E World Championship Women’s Test taking place in Valencia, Spain on October 31.
In a post on social media, the Mahindra Group chairman expressed, "Welcome, Swagatam, Chloe!" This message was shared on X in response to Mahindra Racing's announcement regarding Chambers' joining the team.
Mahindra Racing has chosen Chambers to compete in the upcoming ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
The American racer, who has emerged as a standout in the F1 Academy, boasts two race victories, four pole positions, and ten podium finishes to date. Currently, she is placed fourth overall with two races remaining in the season.
"F1 Academy race winner Chloe Chambers joins Mahindra Racing, and will take part in the @FIAFormulaE Women’s Test in Valencia next week," Mahindra Racing announced via social media.
Chloe Chambers is the newest member of Mahindra Racing, a leading team in the FIA Formula E World Championship.
Before her stint in the F1 Academy, Chambers' career began with a successful journey through karting, including participation in the United States Formula 4 Championship, W Series, and notable performances in the Porsche Sprint Challenge America, where she won eight out of twelve races. She also made history in the Formula Regional Oceana Championship as the first woman to win a race and secure pole position, as noted by Mahindra Racing in a release on Monday.
The Women’s Test is returning for its second edition at Circuit Ricardo Tormo next month, offering double the track time. Chambers will have the chance to participate in a full day of running in the Mahindra M12Electro, the latest version of the Formula E car. This follows her initial experience with the championship at the same test last year, the release further elaborated.
As part of Mahindra Racing, the 21-year-old Chambers will benefit from expert coaching and guidance from the team, which experienced a revival in the FIA’s all-electric series last season, achieving five podium finishes and securing fourth overall in the World Championship—amassing more than triple the points compared to the previous season.
Chambers will also receive support from Nyck de Vries, the Season Seven World Champion, who will remain trackside after his official testing duties earlier in the week [27-30 October] to share his valuable insights and experience, as stated by Mahindra Racing.
“I’m incredibly excited to be back behind the wheel of a Formula E car in Valencia next month for the Women’s Test, especially with Mahindra Racing. Although it's not a new car for me, last year I only had half a day of running, so there are many areas for improvement and a wealth of experience to gain,” said Chloe Chambers in response to the announcement.
“With the experience and guidance of both Mahindra and Nyck [de Vries] behind me, I’m confident we will be able to make significant progress, and I look forward to collaborating with the entire team.”
Mahindra Racing CEO and Team Principal Frederic Bertrand commented: “Chloe is an incredibly promising talent; we’ve been following her progress in the F1 Academy, where she has demonstrated exceptional potential, and we eagerly anticipate working with her during the Women’s Test.
“We are excited to help her build on the experience she gained in the GEN3 Evo car during last year's test, and we recognize that a driver of her caliber will be a valuable asset to our team’s testing program as we prepare for the new season.
“The Women’s Test is a remarkable initiative by Formula E that has the potential to inspire future generations about the vast opportunities available in motorsport, both on and off the track. We are extremely proud to support and participate in this initiative once again this year.”
