During his address, the Prime Minister first extended his congratulations to the Indian women’s cricket team for clinching the ICC Women’s World Cup and emphasized India’s outstanding performance at the recently concluded Deaflympics in Tokyo, where the country achieved a remarkable 20 medal haul.
“This month has been a remarkable period for sports in India. It started with the Indian women's team triumphing in the ICC Women’s World Cup. Following that, we witnessed more thrilling events on the field. Just recently, the Deaf Olympics took place in Tokyo, where India secured 20 medals, marking our best performance ever,” he stated in his speech.
Another significant achievement came from the women’s Kabaddi team, which secured the Kabaddi World Cup title. India showcased its dominance throughout the tournament, winning all their group matches and defeating Iran 33–21 in the semi-finals, subsequently overcoming Chinese Taipei 35–28 in the final.
India also excelled at the World Boxing Cup Finals, finishing with an impressive collection of 20 medals, including nine gold, six silver, and five bronze, during the tournament held in Greater Noida.
“Our women athletes made history by winning the Kabaddi World Cup. Their outstanding performances throughout the tournament captured the hearts of every Indian. Our players also shone at the World Boxing Cup Finals, where they secured 20 medals,” PM Modi highlighted.

He referred to their success as “one of the greatest victories in our sports history.”
