Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Nov 13 (NationPress) Amateur Mahreen Bhatia made an impressive eagle on her second shot at the par-4 14th hole, driving her to a remarkable 6-under performance on the back nine, giving her a two-shot advantage after two rounds in the 15th Leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour 2025 at the Jaypee Wishtown Golf Course this Thursday.

Having previously stood on the podium multiple times at the US Kids World Championship, Mahreen recorded a second round score of 5-under 66, which featured an eagle and four birdies alongside one bogey on the back nine.

With her initial round of 68, Mahreen now holds an impressive total of 8-under 134 over 36 holes, leading a competitive field that includes the five-time 2025 champion Vani Kapoor (69-67), who finished with back-to-back birdies to secure second place at 6-under 136.

Sneha Singh, a two-time winner this year, stands third at 4-under 138 (68-70), while a revitalized Jahanvi Bakshi (72-68) is in fourth place at 2-under 140. Only four players have managed to finish under par after two rounds.

The course proved to be more challenging on the second day, resulting in just four under-par rounds and two even par rounds, contrasting sharply with the ten under-par rounds and four even par rounds from the first day.

Tied for fifth place are four players: amateur Saanvi Somu (71-71), Kriti Chowhan (71-71), Anvitha Narender (69-73), and seasoned player Ridhima Dilawari (69-73).

In a tie for ninth place, four others, Yashita Raghav (71-72), Ananya Garg (70-73), Heena Kang (69-74), and the first round leader Lavanya Jadon (67-76), are all vying for position.

Earlier in the day, as the leaders approached the end of the front nine, there were six players tied for the lead at 3-under, following an early bogey from overnight leader Lavanya Jadon on the third hole.

Mahreen Bhatia showcased her skills with three consecutive birdies from the 10th to the 12th holes, followed by an eagle on the par-4 14th. She concluded her back nine with a birdie, achieving an impressive score of 6-under 29 and a total of 5-under 66, having one bogey and eight pars on the front nine.

Vani Kapoor, aiming for her sixth title in 2025, recorded three birdies on both sides of the Wishtown course, interspersed with a bogey, finishing with a score of 4-under 67, totaling 6-under 138.

Sneha, who started her day with a bogey, concluded with another bogey but managed four birdies and another bogey for a round of 1-under 70. Jahanvi Bakshi achieved a flawless 3-under 68, with all three birdies on the back nine.

The cut fell at 10-over 152, allowing 24 players to advance to the final round.

Notably absent from the competition are big names such as Shweta Mansingh, Neha Tripathi, and Vidhatri Urs.
