Gwalior Cheetahs on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, unveiled a first-of-its-kind High Performance Camp in Gwalior, a five-day cricket development initiative running from 28 July to 1 August in partnership with The Scindia School, Gwalior. The camp has brought together 100 promising young cricketers from the Under-12 to Under-19 age groups for structured training in game development and the key demands of modern-day cricket.

What the Camp Offers

Participants will receive skill-specific coaching designed to build the technical abilities and professional mindset required at higher levels of the game. The programme is being conducted under the direct supervision of Gwalior Cheetahs head coach Aditya Shrivastava, who will expose youngsters to professional coaching methods and contemporary training practices.

Shrivastava brings considerable credentials to the role. He guided Madhya Pradesh to a historic Ranji Trophy triumph — the state's first in 69 years — and is now channelling that expertise into building the next generation of cricketers from the region.

Sukhvinder Singh, CEO of JKC Sports, said the initiative was rooted in a belief that young cricketers must be prepared to the same standards as professional players. 'At JKC Sports, we are committed to strengthening grassroots cricket and creating opportunities for young players to grow in a professional environment,' Singh said. 'With highly competitive state leagues like the Madhya Pradesh League raising the standard of domestic cricket, it is important that young cricketers are exposed to the same level of preparation, coaching and professionalism.'

Singh added that the camp aims to 'provide them with the right guidance and environment to take the next step in their cricketing journey.'

Part of a Wider Development Push

The High Performance Camp is the first in a planned series of grassroots initiatives by JKC Sports across Madhya Pradesh. The organisation is working to build a sustainable player development pathway that extends well beyond the Madhya Pradesh League season, targeting long-term structural growth for cricket in the state.

Notably, this initiative comes against the backdrop of rising standards in domestic T20 cricket, with state leagues increasingly serving as feeder pipelines to the national circuit. Identifying talent early and putting it through professional training structures has become a competitive necessity for franchises looking to sustain their squads.
