Did Hockey India and Tamil Nadu Govt Sign MoU to Host FIH Men’s Junior World Cup?

Chennai, June 19 (NationPress) Hockey India has made a significant stride by signing a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu to host the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025. The ceremony, which took place at the Taj Coromandel Hotel in Chennai, also marked the launch of the tournament logo, igniting the anticipation for this major global hockey event.

Set to unfold from November 28 to December 10, this two-week event will be jointly held in the cities of Chennai and Madurai. In a groundbreaking first, the 2025 edition will feature 24 teams from around the globe, making it the most inclusive and competitive iteration of the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025.

The MoU signing was graced by esteemed guests including the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin, Dr. Atulya Misra, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu, Meghanath Reddy, IAS, Member Secretary, SDAT, Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh, Hockey India Treasurer Sekar J. Manoharan, and Hockey India Director General Cdr. R.K. Srivastava.

During the event, Deputy Chief Minister Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin expressed, “We take immense pride in Tamil Nadu being selected as the host for the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025. This is a proud moment not only for our state but for the whole country. Hosting such a prestigious international tournament underscores our commitment to nurturing and developing sports at all levels.”

Hockey India President, Dr. Dilip Tirkey, remarked, “The FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025 is a pivotal event in the international hockey calendar - a breeding ground for future sports legends.
