Dubai, Feb 14 (NationPress) The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the prize money for the Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to commence on February 19 in Pakistan. The champions will receive an astounding USD 2.24 million.
The total prize pool for this edition of the prestigious eight-team event has seen a remarkable increase of 53 percent compared to the 2017 edition's prize money of USD 4.5 million.
“The return of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy after a hiatus since 2017 will allow the winners of this eight-team tournament to earn USD 2.24 million, along with the trophy they will lift on March 9,” stated the ICC.
The runners-up will be awarded USD 1.12 million, while each losing semi-finalist will take home USD 560,000. Every match in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy matters, with each group match victory valued at over USD 34,000 for the winning team. Teams finishing fifth or sixth will receive USD 350,000, while the seventh and eighth-placed teams will earn USD 140,000. Moreover, all eight participating teams are guaranteed USD 125,000 each for their participation in the tournament, as per ICC.
