Dubai, Dec 12 (NationPress) The International Cricket Council (ICC) and JioStar have officially confirmed the continuation of their enduring collaboration, dispelling any speculation regarding the termination of their four-year agreement.
In a joint statement, they addressed recent media claims about the status of the ICC’s media rights deal in India, clarifying, "These reports do not accurately represent the positions of either entity. The existing partnership between the ICC and JioStar is fully intact, and JioStar remains the ICC’s designated media rights partner in India. Any assertion that JioStar is stepping away from the agreement is false."
Moreover, they emphasized, "JioStar is unwavering in its commitment to meet its contractual responsibilities in both letter and spirit. Both parties are dedicated to providing uninterrupted, top-tier coverage of forthcoming ICC events for fans throughout India, including the eagerly awaited ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, one of the sport's most significant global competitions.
The ICC and JioStar assured that advertisers and industry collaborators will not face any disruptions, as both organizations are taking proactive measures.
"Preparations for these events are advancing as scheduled, ensuring there is no effect on viewers, advertisers, or industry partners. The ICC and JioStar, as longstanding commercial allies, maintain ongoing dialogues on operational, commercial, and strategic matters aimed at enhancing the sport's growth," they added.
JioStar has invested USD 3 billion to secure the ICC's media rights from 2024 to 2027, which guarantees the staging of one major men’s international event each year.
