New Delhi, Jan 28 (NationPress) The India U20 women’s squad is set to participate in three friendly encounters during the FIFA international match window this February in Antalya, Turkiye. Under the guidance of head coach Joakim Alexandersson, the Young Tigresses, who are currently training in Bengaluru, will compete against Jordan (February 19), Hong Kong (February 22), and Russia (February 25) in Antalya.

The India U20 women are gearing up for a challenging year ahead, with the SAFF U20 Women's Championship set for July 2025 and the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers planned for August 2025.

Swedish coach Alexandersson was appointed as the head coach for the India Women’s U20 and U17 national teams by the All India Football Federation in December 2024.

He began his coaching journey in India with a U20 national camp in Bengaluru, which commenced on December 10, 2024. The 48-year-old coach’s role follows an agreement between the All India Football Federation and the Swedish Football Association.

The upcoming friendly matches in Antalya, Turkiye, will mark his latest challenge as head coach.

The AIFF had invited 38 players for the U20 camp held at The Sports School in Bengaluru, from which the current squad was selected.
